We finally know how bad radio can get. Gone are DJs, gone any hint of a soul or spirit. All that is left is 2000 tracks downloaded onto a computer and played in random order. It is like listening to somebody else’s Ipod, with commercials. Jack FM (found in L.A. here) his finally done it, killed the DJ. Like in the Tom Petty song (see "The Last DJ"), soon we will only be able to hear him or her on the Mexican radio. See the future people. If you let them think you have no desire for anything more than the shuffle, go ahead listen. They will make all radio stations this way, nothing more than a computer program intended to sell advertising. Sell your souls to Clear Channel Communications. They are buying in bulk. I have often thought of L.A. radio as a wasteland with few oases. The desert has just gotten a bit more barren. Remember, the DJ can save your life.
