Elvin Jones (1927-2004)

I was sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Jones (obituary here). His free playing style did much to set the groove of the four way musical conversation that was the John Coletrane quartet, which he played for from 1960 to 1966. If you haven't ever heard him play, check out the Coletrane Quartet's Love Supreme, or any of the quartet's other disks. They are all awesome.
