Republican Power, Lost In Translation

He won re-election on a nation’s fear

And promises he didn’t mean to keep

Now that energy is mightily more dear

Down his poll numbers begin to creep

Paychecks not worth as much as last year

And to the public’s concerns he is asleep

Long the Republicans have craved power

But, for most Americans it has gone sour
